After all He has given us free will, but in this prayer we are willingly surrendering it so as to do His will, accepting His wisdom as so much better than our own. It's like we're saying here, God, is the free will You gave me, I'm giving it back because I value more than anything else Your love for me and I trust You enough to surrender all of me to You. I love this prayer and often think it must be one of God’s favourites. After all He has given us free will, but in this prayer we are willingly surrendering it so as to do His will, accepting His wisdom as so much better than our own.
