Prayer before bed…

Here is a classic prayer before bedtime….
“O Angel of God, to whose holy care I am committed by the divine Mercy, enlighten, defend and protect em this night from all sin and danger.
Amen.
Visit, we beseech Thee, O Lord, this habitation, and drive from it all the snares of the enemy. Let Thy holy Angels dwell herein to preserve us in peace; and my Thy blessing be upon us for ever, through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
God the Father, bless us; Jesus Christ, defend and keep us; the virtue of the Holy Ghost enlighten and sanctify us this night and forever; and may the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.
Amen.
Bless O Lord, the repose I am going to take in order to renew my strength, that I may be better able to serve Thee. O all ye Saints and Angels! but chiefly though, O Mother of God! intercede for me this night and during the rest of my life, but particularly at the hour of my death.
May the divine assistance remain always with us.
Amen.”

Thank you for posting this beautiful prayer. I’ve never seen it before.
You asked about St. Raphael’s writings, but like you I have not seen anything other than his life. My husband and I were recently at Our Lady’s shrine in Doylestown, Pa. Since it is the Black Madonna shrine , a polish devotion, I’m wondering if they have more about St. Raphael there. They have a huge bookstore. I don’t have the link handy, but I know they have a beautiful website. It’s Our Lady of Czestohova (sp) in Doylestown, Pa.
Let’s see what we can find on our beloved St. Raphael Kalinowski!
In the peace of Christ-may you be blessed!

OH WOW! I LOVE going to Our Lady of Czestchowa. I try to visit every time I am back east with my family! I just get goosebumps thinking about attending mass in the downstairs chapel (the recreated altar of Czestochowa).
I did have a look around their bookstore but as my Polish is not so good I was not able to find what I was looking for. Although I did get the greatest CD of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy singing the Divine Mercy!
Thanks for posting. I guess I did not realize you were located out East. I look forward to my Christmastime pilgrimage to Bethlehem next month (that’s the Pennsylvania Bethlehem!)
